It feels like it was a sitcom written for kids. The jokes are a little too cheesy, the characters are a little too unrealistic, and the plots are just a little too non-existent.

The acting is mediocre- the only one who can really act in the show is Sara Gilbert, but this roll is just like her roll on Roseanne minus the edge. I don't blame her for being type cast- it happens to most sitcom stars- I blame the writers, who seem to be watching episodes of Roseanne saying "okay, how can we take this character and make her extremely bland and unrealistic?" At least as Darline, she had a chance to be over the top funny and still extremely believable. Because Sara Gilbert IS very funny, and in this sitcom, she does take the jokes as far as they can go- which isn't far.

Then there are Molly Stanton (Farrah) and Melanie Griffith (Lee). Their characters are one big blonde joke. It's like they took Chrissy from Three's Company and split her in half and said "Here, now we have two characters". The blonde jokes are about as stupid as the where on Three's Company, too.

But it might of made out as decent enough a kid's sitcom if they didn't overuse corny sexual innuendo and occasionally swear awkwardly. Sexual innuendo and swearing are part of life, but it doesn't feel like any of these things were put in there naturally. They feel like they were put in there as an after though.

Twins looks like a show that would be more fun to act in than it is to watch. But don't mistake some of my negativity as condemning the entire show all together, because it DOES have potential. Fire the writers and hire new ones who can create decent characters and write good jokes. Decide who your target audience is and write to them. If you're going to swear and make dirty jokes, swear and make dirty jokes. But don't force it, because it FEELS forced. This show has potential to be very funny, but at the rate it's going, it's going to die fast.
